How Tiaprofenic Acid Works
Tiaprofenic acid belongs to a family of medicine known as nonsteroidal, anti–inflammatory drugs (NSAID's) and is used to treat the symptoms of certain types of arthritis (rheumatism). It helps to relieve joint pain, swelling, stiffness and fever by reducing the production of certain substances (prostaglandins) and thus helping to control inflammation and other body reactions. Be sure to take Tiaprofenic acid regularly as prescribed. In some types of arthritis, up to two weeks may pass before you feel the full effects of this medicine. NSAIDs do not cure arthritis, but they promote
suppression of the inflammation and the tissue damaging effects resulting from this inflammation. To lessen stomach upset, take this medicine immediately after a meal or with food or milk. If stomach upset (indigestion, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain or diarrhea) occurs and continues, contact your doctor.
Generic Tiaprofenic Acid vs Brand Tiaprofenic Acid
Brand and generic Tiaprofenic Acid are both available with a doctor’s prescription. It is entirely your choice whether you want a brand or generic. Brand Tiaprofenic Acid and generic Tiaprofenic Acid are identical in dose, strength, safety, efficacy and its intended use. The biggest difference is that the generic is not manufactured in the brand facility.
