How Replavite Works
This medication is a vitamin supplement designed for people with kidney disease. It contains water-soluble vitamins vitamin C and B vitamins including folic acid. This medication provides the water-soluble vitamins that may be lost during dialysis or deficient in your diet. It contains the right amount of vitamins B and C, and folic acid to meet the needs of dialysis patients. B vitamins help the bone marrow make red blood cells and prevent anemia. Vitamin C keeps bones, teeth and skin healthy. Vitamin C also helps your body fight infections and helps heal wounds. Take this vitamin once daily with food and after dialysis if possible. Do not take more or less than is prescribed. On your hemodialysis days, take Replavite after the treatment is over. This is because Replavite is removed by dialysis.
Replavite Possible Side Effects
Contact your doctor or pharmacist if you experience side effects and they are severe and bothersome. Most of the side effect are manageable and may go away on their own.

• Indigestion;
• Nausea;
• Stomach upset (diarrhea)
Replavite Guidelines
Before taking this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it; or if you have any other allergies; or if you are pregnant or breast feeding. Also tell your doctor or pharmacist about your medical history, especially of certain blood disorders (e.g., megaloblastic anemia, vitamin B12 deficiency), be sure to tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have a vitamin B12 deficiency (pernicious anemia) before taking it. Do not stop taking Replavite (multivitamins) without checking with your health care provider. Do not take more medication than prescribed unless advised to do so by your health care provider. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking Replavite (multivitamins). Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your health care provider.
