How Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo Works
Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo is the brand name given to a combination of the drugs ethinyl estraidol and norgestimate. Containing female hormones, when these drugs are used in combination, they work to prevent the release of an egg from the ovaries (ovulation). Additionally, they change the mucus in the cervix and uterine lining, making it more difficult for a fertilized egg to attach to the uterus and for sperm to reach the uterus. Practically speaking, Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo is used to prevent pregnancy.
