How Janumet Works
Containing a combination of metformin and sitagliptin, Janumet is an oral medication used to help control blood sugar levels. Metformin decreases glucose production in the liver and slows the absorption of glucose in the intestines. Sitagliptin works by regulating the levels of insulin that your body produces following eating. Janumet is used practically, along with a diet and exercise plan, to lower blood sugar levels in adults with type 2 diabetes.
