How Sumatriptan Works
Sumatriptan belongs to a class called “triptans” whose main function is to relieve migraine headaches. Triptans work by constricting blood vessels inside the head that cause pain when they are dilated. In most individuals Sumatriptan works within 10 to 15 minutes relieving headache, nausea, vomiting, sensitivity to light and sound. Sumatriptan is to be taken exactly as your doctor prescribed as it is not for everyone.
Generic Sumatriptan vs Brand Imitrex
Are you getting a headache from deciding between brand and generic? Fact is, brand and generics are chemically and therapeutically exactly the same, the only difference is the manufacturer. Imitrex is manufactured by GSK and its generic counter part is manufactured outside a GSK facility. We currently have the brand from Turkey and Canada manufactured by GSK and the generic from Canada, India and Uk. It may come from other countries around the world.
