How Letrozole Works
Letrozole is a cancer-fighting drug that is predominantly used to treat advanced breast cancer in post-menopausal women. It is also used to prevent the recurrence of breast cancer in women who have completed 5 years of Tamoxifen therapy. Letrozole works by inhibiting an enzyme known as aromatase, by doing so it prevents this enzyme from supplying the estrogen that permits breast cancer to grow. You doctor may have prescribed Letrozole for other conditions other than those listed. It is important to take Letrozole exactly as you doctor prescribed.
