How Roflumilast Works

Roflumilast is the active ingredient in Daliresp which is a prescription medicine used in adults with severe Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) to decrease the number of flare-ups or the worsening of COPD symptoms (exacerbations). Roflumilast is used to control and prevent symptoms such as wheezing and shortness of breath caused by ongoing lung disease (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease-COPD which includes bronchitis). It works by reducing the irritation and swelling of the airways. It should be used along with other medications (bronchodilators such as salmeterol, ipratropium) to treat COPD.
