How Latanoprost Works
Latanoprost is the active ingredient in Xalatan. It is used to treat certain types of glaucoma and other eye diseases such as ocular hypertension. Latanoprost is a type of medication called a prostaglandin analogue. It is used to reduce pressure in the eye by allowing fluid in the eye to flow better. It opens drainage channels in your eyes; this allows access fluid to drain.
